Device Settings - Configured System

When navigating to the Device Settings page, users will be presented with different options depending on if the device is part of a configured system or not.

If a system is configured, users will have access to Device Info and Network Settings:

Device Info

Network Settings

Device Info

The Device Info tab shows the device description, model, firmware version, serial number and the protected status of the device. The description is the only editable field.

Network Settings

The Network Settings tab allows users to modify the primary DNS, add or modify the secondary DNS if it is a single device on a system, or unconfigured.

If the device is part of a multi-device system, the network settings can not be edited.

Cable Modes

All Qt X devices are set to single cable mode by default in firmware and software.
NOTE: The cable mode isn't settable on a multi-device configured system. It is only settable on a single device (or unconfigured) system.

Single Cable Mode

Control Network and Media Network traffic are combined using the same network infrastructure. Both Media and Control information share the same switch port (Port #1). In Single Cable Mode Port #2 is disabled.

Dual Cable Mode

Control Network and Media Network traffic are on two separate ports. Media information should be connected to Port #1, and Control information on Port #2. Any changes from Single to Dual will interrupt the communication with the device via the web UI as it will look for the control information coming in on Port #2.

DHCP is checked by default and will allow automatic assignment of an IP by the server. If users select Static IP, they will have the option to configure the device network settings as needed.

Link Local is enabled by default, but can be changed as needed, if no external mechanism of address configuration exists (such as DHCP).

IMPORTANT NOTE: if checking Static IP, users should have an understanding of network protocols and the potential ramifications of modifying the settings; changes made could affect device network connections.

Click 'Apply' to save changes.

If changes are made to either Device or Network settings and you attempt to navigate to the Side Menu a message will pop up asking you to submit the changes. Once changes are applied, the following window will appear, and you will likely need to refresh the browser window to navigate through the Web UI.
